Carothers and Mitchell, LLC is a general civil litigation firm which practices extensively in the areas of Municipal Law, Governmental Defense, Insurance Defense Law, Civil Rights, First Amendment, Zoning, Land Use and Condemnation, Personal Injury and Wrongful Death, and Environmental Law. The firm consists of founding partners Richard A. Carothers and Thomas M. Mitchell, along with partners Regina Benton Reid, and E. Ronald Bennett. Peter C. Brown, Amy B. Cowan and Angela Couch Nguyen are associate members and Michael E. Hobbs also serves in an of counsel position assisting primarily in litigation. We also have excellent administrative support from our office manager, Jennifer Kirk Carothers, and three highly skilled legal assistants who collectively have over 80 years of legal experience. All of the attorneys have devoted a substantial portion of their law practice over the past years to the representation of governmental entitites and insurance clients.
